Dr. Dean Kruckeberg, a well-known American PR expert, gave consent to take part in "Connect-Universum-2018" ; he will present his report during the webinar on November 29-30, 2018.
Dr. Dean Kruckeberg, PhD, APR, Fellow PRSA, is a tenured full professor in the Department of Communication Studies at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He presently serves as a member of the national Professional Freedom and Responsibility Committee (PF&R), having been elected to a second three-year term in 2015. He is past Resolution Chair, Vice Chair and the 2018 Chair of that national committee, and he is a member of the AEJMC (Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication) President’s Advisory Council and National Board of Directors.
Dr. Kruckeberg has lectured and taught worldwide, as well as worked professionally as a public relations practitioner. For 25 years, he worked as an assistant, associate and full professor at the University of Northern Iowa before assuming responsibilities from 2008 to 2013 as executive director of the Center for Global Public Relations and as a full professor at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He was executive director of the Center for Global Public Relations, a service unit in that department, from 2008 to 2013. From 1997 to 2012, Dr. Kruckeberg was Co-Chair of the Commission on Public Relations Education.
Dr. Kruckeberg has been recipient of many awards, the author and co-author of many book chapters, articles and papers dealing with international public relations and international public relations ethics. He is co-author of the 11th (2013), 10th (2010), 9th (2006), 8th (2004), 7th (2000) and 6th (1996) editions of This Is PR: The Realities of Public Relations, which is a major public relations textbook that has a global English edition and translation editions in several languages worldwide, and of Transparency, Public Relations, and the Mass Media: Combating the Hidden Influences in News Coverage Worldwide (2017). He is also co-author of the book, Public Relations and Community: A Reconstructed Theory, which won the first annual PRIDE Award from the Speech Communication Association Commission on Public Relations.
