Ph.D, Professor of Marketing Communications and Semiotics of the Faculty of Journalism and Mass Communication at Sofia State University (Bulgaria). Honorable Professor of International Academy of Authorized Education. Jury member of many international advertising competitions. Professor of the Department of Social Communication of the faculty of Psychology at Tomsk State University (Russia).

Ch. N Kaftandjiev made more than 40 lections at different international congresses and symposiums. He is the author of popular books, which are translated into different languages. His publications include: ''The Language of Advertising'', ''Graphics and Text'', ''Harmony in Advertising Communication'', ''The Images of Woman in Advertising'', ''Absolut Semiotics'', ''Sex and Violence in Advertising''.

Education: 
1981 – graduated from the magistracy of Philological faculty of Sofia University; 1992 – received a Ph. degree; 1993 – took courses of professional development in Holland National University of Measures in educational sphere; in 2005 he became a Professor of Advertising, Marketing communications and Semiotics on the Journalistic faculty and Mass communications at Sophia University; 2007 – got a Specialty in Westminster University (London) and technological University of Dublin; 2008 – defended the second thesis for a Doctor`s degree.
Interests: 
Advertisement, semiotics and integratated marketing communications. Nowadays he studies the influence of new media marketing communications on the youth audience.
Career: 
1981-1985 – editor and chief editor at Bulgarian Academy of Science; 1985-1989 – scientific collaborator of a Laboratory of Education Measures at Sophia University; 1989-1995 – assistant of applied linguistics in Central Institute for Teachers and Executive Personal (Sophia, Bulgaria); 1995 – associate professor at the Chair of Advertising on the Faculty of Journalism at Sofia University; 1996 – 1998 – associate professor at the Chair of Visual Communication and Semiotics at National Academy of Arts; 1997 – honorable professor of International Academy of Authorized Education (Russia, USA); was elected as an international jury member of Advertising Festival in NY; 1999 – 2001 – worked at the University of Yuvyaskyulya (Jyväskylä) (Finland); since 2010 – professor, staff by-worker of the Chair of Social Communication (TSU, Russia).
