Connect Universum 2024: The first meetup of the open multicultural community CrossCommConnect
On November 29, 2024 the Department of Social Communications, TSU with the support of the Office of International Affairs, TSU and the Representative Office of the Tomsk Consortium Universities in Surabaya, Indonesia started the first meetup of the open multicultural community CrossCommConnect. The meetup was hold within the VII All-Russia Research-to Practice Forum Connect-Universum-2024 with the participation of representatives of Al-Azhar University and Govcom consulting and Nexus Risk Mitigation and Strategic Communication agencies (Jakarta, Indonesia). The topic of the meetup was «Professions without Borders: integration of students studying advertising and PR abroad into professional community».
Artyom Y. Rykun, the Vice-Rector for International Affairs, TSU in his welcoming speech highlighted the importance of partnership of TSU with Universities of Indonesia, he focused on the work with Indonesian students and confirmed the relevance of the issue of successful integration of foreign students after getting degree in TSU into professional community.
Ruvira Arindita, a lecturer of the Department of Communication Sciences at University of Al-Azhar Indonesia, Jakarta, Indonesia represented the “Strategic Marketing and Public Relations” program at Al-Azhar University at the meetup and expressed her readiness to cooperate with the Department of Social Communications, Faculty of Psychology, TSU to bring closer the standards of student training and to develop international academic mobility.
The head of the PR agency Govcom consulting, which provides services to the Indonesian government in the field of PR, an associate professor at the University of Indonesia Irwan Hermawan, Jakarta and a representative of Nexus Risk Mitigation and Strategic Communication agency Rizha Al Zahra, Jakarta also took part in the meetup. The practitioners assured that they are open to cooperation, ready to provide cases and assistance in the training of Indonesian students at TSU.
